Before you book
How rentals work
Short version: pick a piece, tell me your dates, pay a deposit that comes back to you, and return it dirty.
What you'll pay
Every piece is priced on its own terms, because a crown and a full parlour set have nothing in common. On any piece's page you'll see exactly which of these apply — never a hidden line at checkout.
- The rate
- Depending on the piece, that's a per-day rate, aper-week rate, or one flat rate covering a whole production run. Larger builds are usually flat — it's simpler for everyone than counting days across a six-week run.
- Cleaning
- Typically $25, and worth every cent — these finishes don't survive a home wash. Some pieces cost more to handle; that's shown on the piece.
- Delivery
- Local pickup is free. Delivery and shipping are quoted by size and how much crating the piece needs.
- Damage deposit
- Usually $50, held and returned in full once the piece is back and checked over. It is not a fee — it's yours.
- Minimum
- Most rentals run a minimum of 3 days, which covers getting it to you and back.
Rentals are booked on a first-come basis. The sourcing deposit is due at booking.
The shape of a rental
- 01
You ask
Tell me the piece and your dates. I'll confirm it's free and send a total with everything itemised.
- 02
You book
Deposit and rate secure the dates. The piece comes off the calendar for everyone else.
- 03
It goes out
Picked up or shipped, with care notes and anything it needs to travel safely.
- 04
It comes home
Return it as it is — dirty is fine. Deposit back once it's checked in.
Questions people actually ask
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can. Everything here exists once — when a piece is out, it is out. For a production, reach out as soon as you have your dates; for Halloween, September is not too early.
What if it needs to fit someone specific?
Most pieces have some adjustment built in, and I will tell you honestly if a piece will not work for a given measurement rather than let you find out at a fitting. Alterations for a rental are quoted case by case.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Stage wear happens and is expected — that is what these are for. Real damage comes out of the deposit, and I will always show you what and why. If a repair costs less than the deposit, you get the difference back.
Do I have to clean it before returning it?
Please do not. Specialty finishes, beading and painted surfaces do not survive a normal wash. The cleaning fee covers me handling it properly.
Can you ship?
Yes, nationwide. Shipping is quoted separately based on size and how much crating a piece needs — some things travel flat, some need a box of their own.
Can I buy a rental piece?
Sometimes. Ask. Some pieces are part of the working collection and stay, but plenty are for sale to the right home.
